Google announced two updates this week that have SEO professionals and marketers pretty excited and for good reason.
Both updates give business owners something we’ve wanted for a long time: better visibility into what’s actually driving results online.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your Google Business Profile is generating leads or whether your website is showing up in Google’s AI search results, Google is finally starting to provide those answers.
Google Business Profile Data Is Coming to Google Analytics
This is a big one for local businesses.
Soon, you’ll be able to connect your Google Business Profile directly to Google Analytics and see local performance data alongside your website data.
That means you’ll be able to track things like:
- Calls
- Bookings
- Direction requests
- Website clicks
- Overall profile interactions
Why is this exciting?
Because local SEO reporting has traditionally been scattered across multiple platforms. Website traffic lived in one place, Google Business Profile data lived somewhere else, and phone call tracking often required another tool altogether.
Now, much of that information will be available in one central location, making it easier to understand how customers are finding and engaging with your business.
For business owners, this means clearer reporting and a better understanding of what marketing efforts are generating real-world actions.

Google Is Finally Showing AI Search Performance
The second update is one we’ve been waiting for since Google began rolling out AI-powered search results.
Google Search Console will soon show how your website performs within AI search experiences, including:
- AI Overviews
- AI Mode
- AI-powered Discover features
Businesses will be able to see:
- Which pages appeared in AI results
- How many impressions they received
- Where those impressions came from
- What devices people were using
- Performance trends over time
Until now, there has been very little visibility into whether your content was being featured in Google’s AI-generated search experiences.
As AI continues to play a larger role in how people search, this reporting will help businesses better understand how their content is being discovered and where future opportunities may exist.
Why This Matters
These updates are exciting because they bring more transparency to SEO.
For years, businesses have invested in local SEO, content creation, and website optimization without always having a complete picture of how those efforts were contributing to results.
Google is now giving us more of the data we’ve been asking for, making it easier to measure performance, identify opportunities, and make smarter marketing decisions.
Both updates are still rolling out, so you may not see them in your accounts just yet, we don’t have access to them yet either.
But we’re excited to start using this data as soon as it becomes available and helping our clients better understand what’s driving visibility, traffic, and leads.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on these updates and sharing more insights as Google continues to roll them out.
